As a business owner, in the shire for fourteen years, I would like to share an experience with others. What I am about to say is in regard to the previous Eurobodalla Shire, and previous Councillors. I am an accommodation provider in Narooma, and our annual water bill for 2014 is estimated at $3,500. In one term of council ( four years) in increased by in excess of 600%. Eight years ago water cost us less than $300.We pay for water coming in and a discharge fee (90% of incoming water) for water going out.This fee was also introduced by previous Council.This charge has a negative impact on the local economies. As businesses have had to make savings in other areas ( like wages) to pay for the water.The charge is unfair, and unjust. What other shires in NSW charge less than $1.00, Eurobodalla Shire charges more the $4.00I ask the current Council to review water charges to local businesses.
