Things to see and do around Moruya Airport. Like plane or helicopter spotting? You can get up close and personal with aircraft arriving and departing. Best locations are just a short walk from the terminal North where you can see light planes arriving & departing. Your so close you can see the pilot. Take a longer stroll to the North end of the main runway and see the commercial flights take off and land. Note subject to weather conditions. The Airport is also home to to a world class Skydive operation, pilot training and joy flights. A Westpac rescue helicopter is also based here. Like to bike ride or a good walk? There is an excellent 10 km track walk to Mossy Point along the coast. Take a very short walk to a beautiful beach (patrolled in summer), basic camping area, excellent fishing locations. Follow the locals to the nearby breakwater and enjoy the view or a great place to swim in the protected water.

Great country airport. Staff are friendly

It's a regional airport. Has very few flights because it's a tiny regional airport. It has a small caf. It has books to read. A much quicker way to get to Sydney and Melbourne than by road. We are very grateful that it exists, for all our family from various states visiting us and vice versa!

Beautiful near the water - great sunsets and friendly staff - high;y reccommended

Will be using this airport in January. Hope they cut down the trees in the review photo, otherwise landing a plane may present some difficulty ! Follow up- Went to the airport as planned. It wasn't really well signposted & it's actually within a caravan park. Drove towards the toilet block- only to find out it was the "terminal". The guys inside were very helpful. Whilst awaiting our flight, we moved outside into the VIP lounge area that had been decorated with 1960's retro chairs. I was then informed these were actually the original 1960's chairs ! By this stage I was thirsty & decided to get a drink at the restaurant (aka the vending machine ! ), before familiarising myself with the terminal evacuation plan. Thankfully you are never more than 5 metres from one of the two exit doors when inside, so pretty straight forward to get out & then assemble at Bob & Sheila's Millard caravan. I also noted that on the counter was a sign that noted as a passenger I was obligated to not carry any guns or ammunition on the flight. Thank goodness for the sign, as no doubt it was there to remind those sometime forgetful folk from Bodalla that they need to leave the 12 gauge at home. All in all, I give the airport three stars for side splitting laugh value ! Even if you don't plan a flight, consider dropping into this tourist attraction.
